Tragedy Continues to Find Ken Green #PGA

Ken Green

The next time you are feeling sorry for yourself, think of Ken Green.

The former PGA Tour player has had a run of misfortune that would be laughable if it weren’t so incredibly tragic.

Green, who won multiple events on tour in the 1980’s and even made a Ryder Cup team, suffered through bouts of depression, entertained suicidal thoughts, lost his money, lost his game, and lost his family before finally finding some semblance of peace on the Champions Tour.

Green was then involved in an RV accident last summer that killed his brother, his girlfriend, his dog, and cost him his right leg.

Now this. Green’s 21-year old son, Hunter, was found dead in his dorm room at SMU last week.

Green wrote the following on his blog:

"Well, today is another sad day. I'm sorry to say that my youngest son, Hunter, has passed. His journey in life has ended and I can't tell you how difficult understanding this is."

No, I don’t, and I don’t think anyone else does either.

I’m not big on preaching, but the next time you think you are having a bad day, remember that you aren’t. Ken Green has had more bad days in the last year than most of us will have in a lifetime.
