Nets Continue To Impress At 4-48 #NBA

Plenty of good seats are still available. Really.

I could write about the Nets being 4-48, and on pace to not only break the ‘record’ for fewest wins in a season, but to shatter it. I could, but I won’t.

I could write about how if they didn’t play the Clippers recently, they would still be sitting on only three wins, but I won’t.

I won’t even mention that they had a 10-2 lead to start the game last night against the Milwaukee Bucks and still found a way to lose by 20, 97-77. I won’t even go to the trouble of mentioning that the Bucks were playing the second game of a back-to-back and that the All-Star break is this weekend.

Instead, just look at that photograph. NBA basketball. That would be 1,016 fans at an NBA game last night. Well, a New Jersey Nets game at least; that’s practically the NBA. Honestly, I am stunned. Stunned that they got a thousand people to come to that thing despite a brutal snowstorm and a team with a .077 winning percentage. If they draw anyone other than the players, officials, and media, they are doing pretty well for themselves.

You can go to a youth soccer game anywhere in this country and see more people watching the game. That’s not actually fair, the soccer game would be a far superior product than Nets basketball.

The Nets' players, coaching staff and ownership should take the time to write each of the fans in attendance last night a thank you note for taking the time to come to the game.

It’s the right thing to do, and considering there were only 1,016 people in seats, it wouldn’t take that long.
