Daly Show Coming To An End #PGA

The good ol' days.

Not that these words haven’t been written or said many times before, but ‘John Daly is done’.

It’s not because of his drinking, as shocking as that may be. It isn’t another marriage on the rocks. It isn’t even his weight loss or the hideous clothes that he wears on the golf course.

It’s because he can’t even beat his celebrity playing partner anymore. Daly played with Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo at the AT&T “Celebrity” Pro-Am and Romo beat him by 4 shots. Uh oh.  Yes, I know that Tony Romo is a scratch player and I don't care.  A great amateur and a tour player are completely different animals, or at least they should be.

When your amateur partner needs to give you a couple of shots per side, just to keep it fair, your days as a premier player are probably in the past.

I have a suggestion for John. It may be drastic, but I think it might be his only shot at regaining his form. When was he at his best? When he was fat, drunk and crazy. What is he now? Less fat, presumably sober, and hasn’t had an off the course incident worthy of his name in years. Soooooo.....

What is he waiting for? Hit the cookies, the Diet Cokes and the Jack Daniels. Start gambling like crazy. Get married to another crazy woman. Sleep in your car, drive from event to event (wait, he still does that), and tear up hotel rooms. Be John Daly.

It may kill him, it may be the most destructive thing he will do in his life, but at least he would be able to beat Tony Romo.
