Google Admits to Acquisition of Plannr, “Everything Is Best”

Google has gone ahead and bought startup “Everything Is Best” and all of their assets, which includes a product dubbed scheduling for hipsters, Plannr. The company, run by Ben Eidelson and Jason Pardo, also offers several other mobile apps including ridepenguin, LoveTap, and SheetIt.

However, Plannr appears to have made the most splash in the news as it mixes functionality between the popular Tungle.me and Google’s own Calendar software. TechCrunch brings us this scoop from an e-mail they received from Google earlier today,

From a Google spokesperson this morning:

“We’re excited to welcome Ben and Jason to Google. They have built several innovative mobile applications, and we believe they can help us make a better and more useful mobile experience for our users.”

So as of today, Google is a (slightly) hipper and more mobile place.

Google’s stretch into the social environment continues apace with this acquisition. The functionality of Plannr will likely greatly broaden the way that people use Google Calendar for scheduling; especially so when it comes to mobile applications that will give users a better at-a-glance and at-a-touch capability for modifying and setting schedules.

Combined with the Google Calendar “Find a Time” feature, multiple users will likely be able to submit the times they’re available and then the meeting organizer can use that too find the intersection in schedules to set the meeting time.

Plannr and Google together will make for an interesting pair as they bridge the gap between disorganized social get-togethers and mobile applications to rapidly bring together small groups of friends for evening plans or other social events.
