Topsy declared today that OneRiot, the realtime search engine, has switched search partners to Topsy.com, a very popular search engine for social web.
Topsy’s now making profits via OneRiot’s online advertisements. Vipul Ved Prakash, Co-Founder and CEO of Topsy stated that ‘OneRiot ads, coupled with the largest indexed set of Twitter data on the planet from Topsy, let publishers keep their audience engaged while they monetize in a safe way through relevant, fresh content from across the social web.’
During 2009, OneRiot has made extensive upgrades to the its real-time search tool, but the announcement of the executive committee on laying off a number of employers reveals certain issues at administration level.
The new partnership is the latest in a string of changes at OneRiot, some which have been better than others. The search tool was quick to get on the real-time trend, taking to search as a primary way of aggregating and repurposing social media data. Monetizing those efforts have been a major goal for OneRiot, and it’s clear that’s still at the forefront of their shared efforts with Topsy.
