Yoono Expands Mobile Realm; Invades iPhone

Social content aggregator Yoono is unstoppable in the expansion their applications to mobile realm, launching its pilot version for mobile phones. This one is already available for download and can be utilized in iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. There are two versions of the software released: one is an ad-supported, free version and the other one is an ad-free paid version. For the latter, which is called the Yoono Pro, you need to shell out $4.99.

With Yoono for iPhone, you can have social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Flicker updates in a single section. Furthermore, updating your status simultaneously across all of these sites is possible. You can also view updates in just one stream or you may swipe side-to-side to view separate updates in each account. Your Facebook notifications will directly reach your inbox as well and mentions in Twitter, DMs and Twitter lists will reach you faster. Another great feature of the application is that you can upload photos in all accounts all at the same time.

The full feature list, per Yoono’s blog:

  • View your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flickr updates in one place (multiple accounts per network supported)
  • Update your status across your networks simultaneously
  • View all your updates in one stream or swipe side to side to see each service and account in a separate stream
  • Comment, Like, Reply, Retweet, Hide Users or Apps directly from the app
  • Get your Facebook Notifications and view your Inbox
  • View your Twitter mentions, Direct Messages, Twitter Lists, and saved Twitter searches
  • Upload pics to all your accounts at the same time
  • Use pinch open gesture to view your stream in full screen mode

This move by Yoono is a big one for the social aggregator service. Now, iPhone users can already access the application wherever they are. Yoono has gained following and popularity as it serves as a universal remote for social networks and great for those who juggles into one social network to another (e.g. Twitter to Facebook and vise versa).  Gist, another social aggregation tool with a set of mobile apps, is heading in the direction Yoono began with, adding a Firefox browser add-on to its suite.

Yoono is a free software that permits you to connect with all your social networks and access instant messaging services in a single device.
