Oracle Expands its Portfolio with New Products for Sun Blade Systems

Expanding its portfolio for Sun Blade Systems, Oracle announced the addition of two new SPARC AND X86 BLADE products. These include SPARC T3-1B Blade server and a dual-node Sun Blade X6275 M2 Server module to its existing modules, plus an Oracle VM blade cluster reference configuration and Oracle’s optimized solution for Oracle WebLogic Suite.

The Sun Blade X6275 M2 is used in certain cloud and virtualized environments, and demonstrates excellent performance. In fact, this is a great choice for cloud infrastructure due to its great performance while reducing power consumption. These systems will also be available on and support Oracle Solaris, Oracle Linux & Oracle VM. Those choosing Oracle blade systems will be able to make a choice between 1GbE and 10GbE networking for high speed Ethernet data transport.

Informing about their new product launches, John Fowler, Executive Vice President, Systems, Oracle said,  “We continue to expand our Sun Fire x86 clustered systems with new SPARC and x86 blade and network products. These enhancements help facilitate integration into existing datacenters and support new application-to-disk solutions that address our customers’ most challenging cloud requirements.”

Besides this portfolio expansion, we also heard about Oracle’s new SPARC Solaris-based Exalogic Elastic Cloud T3-1B engineered system, along with a complete refresh of the SPARC server product line. This SPARC Solaric-based Cloud is a integration of systems that run java and non-java applications. Along with this, Oracle also announced about an enhanced Sun SPARC Enterprise M-Series servers with a new SPARC processor and and the Oracle Solaris 11 Express, that released last month.
