GigaSpaces Technologies Partners with Protogen, Taking the Cloud Down Under

Virtualized application platforms developer, GigaSpaces Technologies announced it has added the Australian enterprise management solutions provider Protogen Technologies as a partner. The two have teamed up to deliver Australian clients high-speed processing and scalability using the GigaSpaces eXtreme Application Platform (XAP).

“Protogen and GigaSpaces combine to provide our best-of-breed technology to Australian business,” says Adi Paz, GigaSpaces Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “Because XAP is a complete platform, Protogen’s clients quickly realize ROI with efficient processing and by optimizing their hardware utilization.”

GigaSpaces’ XAP is an enterprise end-to-end cloud application server. The new partnership with Protogen will enable the platforms developer to expand its reach internationally and enter the Australian market, backed with Protogen’s existing offerings. XAP reportedly supports any application combination as well as primary languages including Java, C++, and .Net– which may attract additional prospects and increase the value of existing Protogen clients.

The cloud industry is on the rise, and an array of offerings including the above where clients own their infrastructure are a great driver for global competition. The GigaSpaces and Protogen may only be more fitting for joint clients, but a Protogen technology-optimized XAP provides yet another player to reckon with.

This development on GigaSpaces Technologies follows other enhancements that the organization embarked on this 2010. One of the most celebrated feats of GigaSpaces this year is their team up with Citrix.  According to an article posted in SiliconAngle, the goals of the partnership between GigaSpaces eXtreme Application Platform (XAP) and Citrix OpenCloud virtualization and networking infrastructure include complete integration, optimization and improvement of elastic application of data centers. They also actively participated in the social gaming world as they carry out the first cloud-based, social casino platform through Gigaspaces’ eXtreme Application Platform (XAP) for Yazino. It was a lucrative 2010 for the provider of a new generation of application platforms for Java and .Net environments and 2011 seems to be promising for them.
