Data Center Systems will have Chris Crosby sitting on the CEO chair, leaving Digital Realty Trust, a prominent provider of wholesale data centers. Data Center Systems, a company offering cable solutions and fiber management system for advances data centers, rose from the ranks with excellent services delivered to customers with ‘20 or more director class switches. That’s the environment with the port density is enormous. Our customers have large amounts of storage,’ said former CEO Kevin Ehringer, who is now collaborating with Crosby on its new position.
“The parallels between Data Center Systems today and Digital Realty Trust prior to the company’s IPO are remarkable,” Crosby said. “Both focus on a segment of the IT stack that is ripe for an innovative company to cut through long-standing inefficiencies and offer a solution that saves customers a huge amount of money on their data center projects while delivering a better environment for the customer. The infrastructure solutions that Data Center Systems has pioneered have the potential to impact the industry as much as the wholesale datacenter model that Digital Realty Trust did.”
Digital Realty Trust raised last month $400 million that will be used for temporarily repay borrowings under its revolving credit facility, to acquire additional properties, to fund development and redevelopment opportunities and for general working capital purposes. A new CEO will bring a fresh look on the company and Crosby considers structured cabling solutions for large data centers have a sound potential for improved design.
Another newly-appointed CFO in the big data domain is Karmasphere‘s Daniel Moskowitz, former vice president of finance and operations at Zend Technologies with a sound expertise, having worked in the past with Inter, Intuit and BMC Software.
“Daniel is a very strong addition to our team as he brings an optimal blend of experience from both blue chip and dynamic start-up environments,” said Gail Ennis, CEO, Karmasphere. “He will be invaluable in building and scaling our IT, operations and financial systems that will be the foundation for our next phase of growth.”
