Red Hat Proves Why Amazon Web Services Is A Must Consideration

There was some news today that did not get a lot of attention. Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) now runs on Amazon Web Services.

But before you yawn and lay your head on that old-fashioned desk of yours, think for a minute about what this means.

AWS is becoming a must consideration as part of any enterprise technology strategy. And there are hundreds of technology companies and solutions providers to prove it.

Oracle runs on AWS. IBM runs on AWS. SAP runs on AWS. Novell runs on AWS.

And there are solutions providers to support them such as Capgemini and Accenture.

So, it’s not just integral for a technology company to be on AWS. It’s important for the service providers, too.

What this shows is proof of an approach that focuses on community. Integrators nor solutions providers Oracle created the AWS ecosystem. It was the developers. They are the core of the community. These early adopters lead to the deeper interest from the corporate sector. That interest fueled demand for integrated architectures between AWS and enterprise customers. Solutions providers provide expertise in this process.

So, it’s not big news that Red Hat is on AWS. It’s just proof again why any enterprise technology strategy should include AWS as an important consideration.
