Clean Tech Boldly Going Where No Man has Gone Before

There are a lot of Star Trek fans out there, and one of them is King Abdullah of Jordan. The Middle Eastern monarch, who was once an extra in an episode of Star Trek Voyager, has given the green light to a $1.5 billion star–a trekkie theme park.  But this park will not be powered by dilithium crystals, but will utilize green technology instead.

The themed entertainment destination will also serve as a model for “green energy,” incorporating state-of-the-art renewable technologies throughout the facility, and hosting a “future” pavilion where businesses, students and attendees can learn about alternative energy sources ranging from solar and wind energy to greywater harvesting.

The theme park will deliver a variety of multi-sensory 23rd-century experiences, culminating with a state-of-the art space-flight adventure that takes real-time immersive entertainment experiences to bold, new heights.

Global entertainment powerhouse Rubicon Holding is partnering with Paramount Recreation, a division of Paramount Pictures, and the global architectural firm Callison to create The Red Sea Astrarium (TRSA), a 184-acre themed entertainment resort in Aqaba that will feature a Star TrekCentre sure to attract a few die-hard Trekkies.

Paramount Reaction and the Rubicon Group are partnering with architectural firm Callison to create the futuristic theme park. According to initial reports, the park will “wow visitors with a 23rd century multi-sensory experience that will incorporate highly advanced visual and sound effects to give the people coming in the park a real-time feel of things. The technology which will go into building the Red Sea Astrarium Park will be unlike any other and they will be truly state of the art.”
