Ballmer Finally Admits that Windows Phone Sales not What He Had Hoped for

During today’s Financial Analyst Meeting (FAM) CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer finally admitted to the fact that Windows Phone wasn’t performing well.

He did say that Microsoft’s partners hadn’t sold ”quite as many as I would have liked” between its October release and today, all the while still not releasing any solid sales number for Windows Phone.

“I’m not saying I love where we are, but I am very optimistic on where we can be,” he said during the meeting.

It was also pointed out that Nokia was at a privileged level among all the partners with other handset makers, treating Windows Phone as more of an irritating side project; and that, along with the inadequate effort from the carriers, is exactly why Windows Phone is stagnant.
