AppSense Expands Its Ecosystem with New Program

Desktop virtualization solutions provider AppSense kicked off an interesting intuitive to help it grow its ecosystem, and consequently grow its share of the market.  Its new AppSense Certified Service Provider, or ACSP program offers companies that provide subscription-based enterprise services to add a virtualization element to their existing models. This means AppSense would give access to training, support and lowered rates to as-a-service firms that would choose its product to power this.

“AppSense user virtualization enables service providers to implement a highly standardized and scalable desktop and application delivery infrastructure while offering a personalized and responsive computing experience. This maximizes customer satisfaction while minimizing infrastructure and support costs.”

AppSense is gunning for a pretty big market there are a lot of as-a-service companies out there, and even more enterprises that have realized the economic potential of only paying for what they’re using. The virtualization firm hopes to sign up as many partners as possible, and will be holding an introductory webinar called “Delivering High-Value Desktop Services with User Virtualization” on  October 12.

AppSense is working with its partners to develop joint offerings, though this has been the case before the ACSP program’s debut too. It teamed-up with Lakeside Software to offer the User Virtualization Assessment constancy service, which essentially aims to optimize a company’s shift to a virtualized environment by crunching numbers and polling employees.

AppSense is competing with a lot of companies that take a lot of different approaches to VDI, so building up market share on more than one level is a good way to stay competitive. As far as extending consulting services and certification programs alongside an existing product, this is a tactic many cloud and virtualization companies are employing, including Cloudera, VMware and others.
