All Systems Go! Apple Sends Invites for Oct. 4 Event
Apple finally confirmed the much rumored Oct. 4 event, as it handed out its official invitations to selected guests today. The event will be held at Apple’s Cupertino campus on Tuesday, 10am PST and will be spearheaded by new CEO Tim Cook.
The invitation from Apple consists of four icons and a quote: “Let’s talk iPhone.” The icons reveal a unique way of telling the invited person of the date, time, place, and the event itself. The first icon is a calendar showing “Tuesday 4,” the second icon is a clock that says 10:00, the third is a map of Apple’s campus, and lastly a phone icon, which could mean an iPhone announcement.
Although rumors have it that an iPhone 5 will be announced during the event, others are speculating that it is going to be an iPhone 4S and some said that it’s going to be both devices.
Of all the dates, why did Apple choose Oct. 4 as the date of the announcement? Is it some kind of a hint of what’s going to be announced? Is it really an iPhone 4S, hence the specific date? We’ll find out soon on Tuesday.
The Apple event will also spotlight on how Cook will fare on being the new person to announce the new iPhone. Cook will be surely compared to Steve Jobs, who resigned last August, after the event. So let’s expect a flurry of criticisms from pundits and Apple fanboys alike.
Whatever iPhone device that Apple is going to reveal next week, I’m sure that it’s going to change the mobile phone industry, again.
And one more thing… let’s get ready to be surprised.
