Samsung Gears Up for Their “Prime” Event

“In everyday life, some things just go better together

Cookies + milk = A better snack

Coffee + newspaper = A better morning

Planner + fountain pen = A better plan

Wine + candles = A better moment

Another perfect combination is just around the corner

Get ready for it

Something BIG is coming”

If you’re familiar with the above statement, you’ve probably seen Samsung’s latest teaser video for their Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in San Diego, California on October 11, 2011.  At the end of the teaser, you see a glimpse of a curved gadget.  According to some sources, Samsung will unveil their secret weapon on the said event.

The secret weapon everyone is buzzing about is the Nexus Prime, which will supposedly feature a 4.6-inch, 720p HD-quality Super AMOLED screen, an 8 megapixel camera, 1 GB of ram, Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities, 4G, and best of all, the Nexus Prime will be the first device to run Google’s newest version of Android, dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich.

Fandroids mocked Apple fans for the underwhelming product lunch this past Tuesday, and stated that everyone should watch Samsung’s big event and be ready for what Samsung has prepared for the event.

The teaser video is said to mock Apple’s event, as it didn’t deliver what was expected of them.  The Nexus Prime is rumored to go to Verizon in an exclusive deal, and will be formally dubbed as the DROID Prime.  Also, last Tuesday, as everyone was waiting for Apple to unveil the new iPhone, “leaked” photos of the Nexus Prime surfaced the web.

It looks like Google and Samsung are still on good terms, though the latter has been swinging with other partners such as Microsoft.
