Givit App Bring Private Video-Sharing to Android

Dedicated to making it simple to share videos captured on any camera with friends and family, Givit announced the initial availability of its free Android app. Givit is a cross-platform private video sharing service, allowing users to share videos to a select audience. The service sends a private video link to the recipient you choose to share a video and they can view it via computers, tablets, phones and other smart devices.

The app features the following:

• Record and share videos with just a few taps

• Share large video files easily and privately, controlling who can watch and forward the videos you share

• Upload high-quality videos quickly behind the scenes with no waiting

• Watch and share all the videos in your Givit account on your Android phone or tablet, or any computer

• Store all uploaded videos in one place, knowing that everything is securely backed up in your private Givit account

“From the moment we conceive Givit, we’ve been planning our Android app,” said president and CEO of Givit Greg Kostello. “With over half of smart devices worldwide running Android, we’re thrilled to get this version of Givit into the hands of Android users so early in the new year.” “Givit for Android is a key next step for cross-platform OS and device support, joining our web, desktop and iOS offerings,” said Kostello. “The value of Givit is that you can share video privately from any camera, and your audience can view it on any computer, tablet or smart device. It really is that simple.”

Video has made some serious gains in the past year, but private network content-sharing is a trend that’s picked up steam.  In the mobile realm, Givit contends with Google+.  As a social media network, it allows people to share information with groups called Circles, and has set out to become one of Facebook’s biggest rivals. We also have Path, a social networking app that functions pretty much like Twitter and Instagram. However, unlike any other social media service, it allows a person to only have 50 friends on so that one would only share to people that he/she is very familiar with. Both of these services have video-sharing capabilities.
