Peruvian Government Uses Teradata Solution for Efficient Big Data Analysis
SUNAT a major agency operating under Peru’s Economy and Finance Branch, has selected and deployed the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance to integrate and centralize its data. The success of SUNAT’s adoption suggests Teradata is making strides in its goal of reaching its full potential in big data analysis. Teradata’s Teradata staff says the data technology will help SUNAT “meet the challenge of managing and analyzing large data volumes to comply with customs requirements and tax collection processes for Peru’s evolving economy.”
Seeking to develop integrated systems and tighten control over compliance and modernizing processes, SUNAT required updating technology infrastructure for better data management to provide greater transparency concerning tax administration processes and decisions. The Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance has significantly reduced the time SUNAT typically required for data analysis; large data stream queries can now be processed in a few minutes instead of half an hour.
The new Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance is so efficient because it ensures that data is automatically compressed when loaded, and decompressed as needed. Teradata Database 14 also leverages Teradata Columnar, which enhances performance and compression. The appliance also offers scalability and “in-database” analytic capabilities to accelerate query responses in growing data sets, reducing time invested to minutes rather than hours or days.
