Today’s mobile news roundup features: Samsung’s safe rating with new products launch; Dell’s Windows RT tablet; Amazon’s Europe Appstore; and Intel’s push for wireless charging.

Samsung maintains A+ rating

Fitch Ratings will not be lowering their ‘A+/Stable’ mark for Samsung anytime soon though the company’s huge loss against Apple over patents.  The firm believes that Samsung’s minor drop in share prices is just temporary, and will not greatly affect the South Korean firm’s overall performance.

And it looks like Fitch could be right.  Any Samsung devices Apple manages to get banned from being sold in the US because of patent infringement would be their old products.  And Samsung is a company that never stops creating new things for people to enjoy.

At IFA 2012, they’ll be displaying the newly announced Galaxy Note 2 – a phablet much similar to their first one only a bit bigger and have better and improved features.  And a new Windows RT 10.1 -inch tablet and a 4.8-inch Windows Phone 8 smartphone will also be on display.  It seems Samsung is anxious to diversify away from Google Android, as Samsung tries to avoid Apple in court.

Also, a source stated that Samsung will announce during their keynote at IFA that the Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean will be available for the Galaxy SIII starting next month.  And there’s a huge chance that the Galaxy SII will also be getting the update.

Dell’s Windows RT tablet

Dell joins Samsung in showcasing Windows RT tablets at the IFA.  The Dell XPS 10 is a 10-inch tablet that boasts of running for 20 hours on a single charge and features an HD touchscreen.  They’ll also be showcasing the hybrid tablet XPS Duo 12 which features a 12.5-inch display screen with a machined, aluminum-built and carbon fiber surrounding the display.  To use it as a laptop, just open the lid like any other notebook.  But to activate tablet mode, you just need to flip the screen and close it on the keyboard.  Of course, both tablets will be running the latest Microsoft OS, Windows 8.

Amazon’s Europe Appstore

Amazon launched their Android Appstore in five European countries, which sparks rumors that their very affordable Kindle Fire tablet will soon be available in Europe as well.  Consumers in  UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain can now enjoy free and paid apps for their Android devices.  And to boost interest from consumers, they’re offering Free App of the Day starting off with Rovio’s Angry Birds, which will then be followed by PopCap’s Plants Vs. Zombies.

“Customers in the US have purchased millions of apps, games, in-app items and subscriptions since the store launched last year, and we’ve received great feedback about discovery features like Free App of the Day,” says Amazon’s vice president of Amazon Appstore Jim Adkins, in a statement.

“Amazon has spent years developing innovative features that help customers find and discover the products that are right for them and have applied that know-how to the Amazon Appstore. We’re delighted to extend that experience to our European customers.”

Intel’s wireless charging

Intel announced that Integrated Device Technology will develop and deliver chipsets that will enable some future Ultrabooks to wirelessly charge certain devices, such as smartphones.  The technology is dubbed as Wireless Charging Technology by Intel (WCT), and will allow you to revive your ailing device by simply putting it about an inch from your Ultrabook to wireless charge.  This is quite useful for times when there’s a scarcity in power outlets or you forgot to bring you mobile device’s charger.

IDT states that the reference design for the chips will be ready in early 2013, but Intel won’t be announcing anytime soon when the technology will be available for consumers.
