Hadoop’s Performance Increases with the Help of Zettaset and GridIron
GridIron Systems and Zettaset have joined forces to create a reference for virtual Hadoop clusters, using Flash to enhance the effectiveness of inter-node communications. Hadoop users will be provided with “an efficient, pre-configured alternative to building and configuring racks of servers, storage, and software for large-scale developments,” according to reports.
What makes this whole thing tick is the Hadoop architecture integrates the Zettaset Orchestrator software with the GridIron OneAppliance iNode. Orchestrator acts almost as a doctor for Hadoop and helps with the performance, security and health, while iNode helps keep Hadoop running strong by providing high-performance compute, storage, and high-connectivity it requires.
Like Drill, Orchestrator also helps with the speed of Hadoop clusters, allowing them to be ready to use within an hours, while eliminating any dependencies on professional services, which in return lowers any IT expenses.
Both iNode and Orchestrator support virtualization, so users can easily adapt to the platform to meet their specific needs.
“Hadoop is the great enabler for complex analytics that require the aggregation of huge amounts of data from many sources,” Jim Vogt, CEO of Zettaset said.
According to Vogt, the more Hadoop clusters grow, the more they can suffer from performance degradation. “Zettaset has worked closely with GridIron to build a powerful infrastructure platform that combines high density and high performance in a single powerful package. Users can now concentrate on building business value from their data and not worry about the underlying platform.”
GridIron OneAppliance iNode is the Chanel of Flash systems in the industry, working as the highest performing server available. The iNode is a single 10-rack system that is able to manage clusters of storage and servers without the performance being tampered with in any way.
“This new reference architecture solves key Big Data challenges, such as time pressure, resource availability and cost-efficiency,” Som Sikdar, CTO at GridIron Systems said.
