CloudMunch Announces First Full-Stack DevOps Platform For Continuous Delivery
CloudMunch, a provider of SaaS based DevOps tools, today launched the CloudMunch DevOps platform at the DeployCon Conference. This DevOps platform is the first-of-its-kind full-stack continuous delivery platform, intended to simplify the continuous delivery of applications for developers, while giving development teams the ability quickly deployment new applications.
“CloudMunch simplifies continuous delivery for distributed DevOps teams. By combining application automation tools with Chef’sinfrastructure automation capabilities, CloudMunch is giving developers the benefits of full-stack continuous delivery in a single SaaS platform,” said Bryan Hale, vice president, Opscode. “CloudMunch’s integration with Chef gives the Chef community a great option for automating build, test, and deploy processes in the cloud.”
With this CloudMunch DevOps platform, developers can now use the collective power of CloudMunch’s GitHub-to-Cloud with 1 Click functionality and Opscode Chef for deploy-anywhere continuous delivery. In addition, there are several benefits of using this CloudMunch platform, such as:
- Get to Market Faster–GitHub-to-Cloud with 1 Click: CloudMunch enables sign-in with a GitHub ID to enable developers to get started with continuous integration, testing and continuous deployment in minutes. With one click, import code repos, automatically detect test settings and set up for a wide range of web apps.
- Reduce Deployment Complexity: As CloudMunch integrates with Chef to import Chef environments and deploy to Chef nodes, this allows developers to use and extend more than 800 existing Chef cookbooks or use their Chef recipes and build and validate them continuously using Foodcritic.
- Improve Collaboration and Decision Making: CloudMunch DevOps Dashboard offers collaboration features that facilitate discussion across development QA and Ops teams, while in-context, real time analytics deliver intelligent build metrics and real time infrastructure monitoring via AWS Cloudwatch and Nagios.
“CloudMunch marks the first time a DevOps tool bring continuous delivery of applications and infrastructure together in such a simplified fashion for developers,” said Pradeep Prabhu, CloudMunch CEO. “We are democratizing continuous delivery–what was such a hard and expensive set of integrations is now one click from GitHub to the cloud.”
Software-as-a-service and other software-led infrastructure design has become an integral part of DevOps in an enterprise-world where developers have a lot more control over how their applications act across networks. With CloudMunch’s approach, agility can be achieved even better than before and adding tools that simplify how Ops implements what Dev produces will reduce headaches across the board.
Tools such as Git-to-Cloud and automatic Chef nodes also means that production environments (and therefore Ops) can feel a lot like what Dev is working with. A common issue in development is how the production environment often differs from the crystal purity of dev.
CloudMunch provides a cloud-based “full stack” of DevOps tools along the entire continuum of the cycle and that’s going to be a huge benefit to their clients.
