At the upcoming World Wide Developers Conference in June, Apple Senior Vice President of Industrial Design Jony Ive is said to unveil Apple’s new look, which is already being described by early users as “black, white, and flat all over.” While most of the design is the same as the first iPhone, apps such as Mail, Calendar, and Maps have gained a more uniformed look with flat white textures, giving each app a white base with a respective color theme.

3D-Printed Bionic Ear

A new 3D-Printed ‘Bionic’ ear developed at Princeton University can now hear beyond human ability. Lead researcher Michael McAlpine said he and his research team basically wanted to ask the question of whether they could grow an organ in a petri dish, and intertwine electronics as the organ grew. He went on to add that the ear is not intended to help the deaf, but rather, they wanted to create a super-ear that could hear well beyond the range of human capabilities.

Verizon FiOS customer finds out the limits of “unlimited data” the hard way

A FiOS customer recently discovered the limit of “unlimited” data. A California man received a phone call from a Verizon rep after consuming 77 terabytes of data in just one month. The man switched from a dual 150 megabit business class connection to a 300/65mb residential plan in January. Those terms exclude the use of FiOS for “high volume purposes” and forbid customers to “host any type of server.”
