On today’s episode, we’ll be discussing the biggest mobile developer study in history with 6,000 respondents from 115 countries. The results said that while iOS developers make an average of $5,200 per month in app revenue and Android developers pull in $4,700, more developers plan to start developing for Windows Phone than any other platform.
Even though Windows Phone has a significant amount of developer interest, the number is actually down from the previous quarter. And it’s still going to be extremely challenging for Microsoft to break into one of the top two leadership positions in the smartphone market.
We’ll be sure to ask Kristen about how this trend will affect the current markets, and how it should continue as new competitors like Firefox OS and Jolla enter the market.
You’ll also get her opinion on what each platform can do to raise its popularity amongst developers, and what the study reveals about current platform prioritization.
