Plutora Updates Enterprise Release Manager Platform to Improve Your Software Release Management
The ability to trigger the deployment, the ability to track release management capabilities, and the ability to successfully repeat this process to deploy continuous software releases is a cumbersome process for any IT administrator.
The release cycle determines how often software is released into production, how much nonfunctional testing is needed, and how long it would take. Plutora, the company that produces a SaaS-based application to manage software releases, released the latest Enterprise Release Manager version 2.0, a cloud based on demand tool to control software releases.
Plutora Enterprise Release Manager version 2.0 combines collaboration and communication of all parties involved in software release across multiple applications to deliver on-time software release. The latest release increases efficiency, delivers extra value to DevOps, reports timing, composition, status, and stakeholders for all releases and helps keep an organization out in front. Release management improves your team’s ability to produce quality software with faster feedback and shorter delivery cycles.
“We’ve learned from our customers that fragmented processes and tools heightened by geographically dispersed teams have created a wall of confusion between business stakeholders and IT teams,” said Dalibor Siroky, co-founder and Director at Plutora. “With Enterprise Release Manager version 2.0, we are incorporating their feedback to provide increased productivity and collaboration, mitigate software release failure, and accelerate time-to-value for software projects by eliminating this wall of confusion and making it easy for teams to work together.”
Version 2.0 brings some interesting new features including System Impact Matrix to show a heat map of systems impacted by a release, the nature of that impact (direct code impact or downstream regression impact) and the size of that impact based on the number of changes; Release System Dependencies to identify and manage impacts of software release and take corrective action. In addition, it features Stage Gate Approvals to approve or reject a release at every key stages and a real time date view of the environment demand function and the test environments assigned to project phases.
Release management is a part of that continuous improvement model. With faster cycles of software features being released, agile practices for development and testing is critical to business operation. Agile methodology pushes the release management to build, deploy, and test faster through each environment. And release management has many benefits to organization including increase in efficiency, productivity, reducing risk, collaboration between teams and better configuration management.
Plutora’s Enterprise Release Manager is a really important tool for any software project, which is filling in the technology gaps between development and Ops.
