F-Secure FreeDome, VPN solution from your mobile devices

People are moving more and more onto public wireless networks (mobile,, without knowing who is there still hanging around and maybe sniffing our data. Many people are afraid to connect to a public wireless network from mobile devices as it is said that our data may be vulnerable because the connection is not secure.

Instead of having to comply with different requirements for more and more devices and services, we should rather choose a central security solution that is always efficient and effective to date. F-Secure has introduced a security solution for mobile devices designed to protect communications over the Internet.

This solution is called F-Secure Freedome, which allows users of mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets to create VPN connections. Freedome application brings the cloud through a more simplified network security for mobile devices. This new application is targeted at businesses instead of the normal base of consumers.

Freedome is not yet publicly available, but the F-secure website is providing sign up for early access. The wider release will be likely before the end of the year and will be available in iOS and Android devices.

Android is the new Windows. Anyway, the biggest problem Android platform provides is to install some third party applications. Many times, we can find in the Google Play Store approved applications that are malicious, which get access permissions to the device and you do not know what it is used.

Freedome provides desired protection from viruses, malicious websites, and websites tracking cookies. In this respect, it resembles a traditional network security solutions, from which the difference between FreeDome securities is implemented through a cloud. Freedome also protects your network with VPN, in case such as public Wi-Fi networks where data will be far safer than the use of the information passing through strongly encrypted system.

This new application will allow encrypt our traffic and maintain a stable and secure communication between servers and F-Secure devices. The operation is very simple. Simply download the application, press a button and you will establish a secure connection with F-Secure servers. Once connected, the servers will be responsible for analyzing all our connections, check the traffic and decide whether it is reliable or suspicious connection.

F-Secure Freedome has a double layer of security. The act of establishing a VPN between devices and additional encryption ensures server connections and traffic to independently analyze its servers. An interesting feature is the freedom of the virtual location of certain services. This allows you, for example, access to certain services or content that is restricted to a particular geographical area such as video services.

This new tool is scheduled to appear for mobile devices before the end of 2013 and to desktop systems for the next year. The company has not commented on the price you will subscribe to this service but has said it will be matched to different VPN solutions exist today.
