CloudMunch open DevOps platform aims to ease application portability on Windows Azure
The cloud has conceptually influenced software development, design and testing–changing the nature of both simple and complex systems. As companies leverage the capabilities of the cloud developers and administrators find it more necessary to have the tools on hand to react frictionlessly to deployment and management. CloudMunch, seeking to ease cloud transition for DevOps via tools and API, has recently announced the addition of Windows Azure to its lineup.
CloudMunch portrays its offering as a full stack continuous delivery system that handles continuous integration, automated testing and continuous deployment. Recently, the DevOps management platform provider has announced that it has integrated its DevOps platform with Windows Azure cloud platform. Developers and IT operations teams can now utilize the CloudMunch Open DevOps Platform with their preferred tools for fast and easy continuous delivery of applications to Windows Azure instances.
As cloud and API management opens doors to new business models, enterprises seek to control applications being developed with those APIs-both within their organizations and across their partner networks. Enterprises are also looking for agile environments to deploy applications quickly on-site or in the cloud, which run efficiently and scale elastically to meet their shifting demands.
“Windows Azure is an open, flexible, and scalable cloud platform that enables developers to bring innovation to market faster,” said Vibhor Kapoor, Director, Windows Azure Product Marketing, Microsoft. “CloudMunch provides a comprehensive Open DevOps management platform with streamlined deployment and delivery of applications to Windows Azure, bringing greater agility to deployments.”
The integration of CloudMunch’s existing continuous delivery ecosystem on Windows Azure provides developers a full range of options including painless move of applications from existing deployment environments, including on premise, managed hosting, or cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service. CloudMunch unites various Dev and Ops workflows with an even wider array of Dev and Ops tools into a powerful DevOps management platform to facilitate cross-team and any-cloud continuous delivery.
“At CloudMunch, we know it’s about choice, so we focus on giving development and operations the freedom to choose the best tools and cloud IaaS for their applications. We are excited to offer Window Azure for our customers who choose the Microsoft cloud ecosystem,” said Pradeep Prabhu, CEO CloudMunch.
CloudMunch’s DevOps platform for OpenStack offers required tools for developers and IT operations for development and continuous integration with continuous deployment to OpenStack. The platform provides plug-n-play framework support for popular tools as Jenkins, Chef, Selenium and others, bringing continuous integration, continuous delivery, and advanced DevOps management features to a single SaaS application system. In addition to Windows Azure, the platform supports Amazon Web Services, OpenStack IaaS clouds, and Cloud Foundry Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) as continuous delivery options.
