Top Valentine apps for lonely hearts

small__5574439121“It’s Valentine’s Day, what’s your plan?”

This is something we all encounter on February 14. Some couples go out on expensive dates, while some stay at home and make the most of their time together without spending too much cash. But of course, there are plenty of those who don’t have a special someone to spend Valentine’s Day with, and they’re left with either going out with other single friends on a group date, or just staying at home and shutting the world out for a day.

But if you find yourself in this position, don’t be too disheartened – all is not yet lost, as there are millions of people in the same one-man boat as you!

SiliconANGLE’s got you covered. All you need to do is download one of the following Valentine’s Day apps and there’s every chance you’ll meet that someone special today!

All the single people, put your hands up!

TinderTinder

Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples, singles can have fun too and Tinder is here to help you find the right connection. Tinder is an app available for both iOS and Android which helps you find people near you that share the same interests and passions. This app allows you to discover interesting people and help you make the connection. If both Tinder users like each other, a connection will be made; if only one party is interested, the other person will not find out that you like him or her. No embarrassing or awkward moments because you won’t be introduced with each other unless both of you like each other.

Glimpse

This app uses the power of Instagram, but instead of putting your likes and interests on the app for people to see, you just let your Instagram photos do the talking. You sign up with your Instagram account and choose nine of your best or favorite photos, or photos that you think best emulates the real you. You can then explore the Glimpse community to check out photos of other people. If you find someone that interests you, smile at them, and if he or she smiles back, consider that as an icebreaker so you can get to talking and getting to know each other.

Coffee Meets Bagel

It may be too late to find a date for Valentine’s but it can be a great day to start searching for one in preparation for next year. One of the hottest dating apps people are raving about these days is Coffee Meets Bagel, a dating service that’s also available for iOS. What makes it different from other dating platforms is that you get paired up with a new single person everyday at noon. Within 24 hours, you must choose whether you want to LIKE this person, or PASS, then wait for next day’s offer. Mutual likes lead to a direct connection facilitated by CMB so you can get chatting – but don’t worry, your personal information won’t be revealed unless you want it.

Need a quick-fix?

Plenty of us are in relationships of course, and that means they’re almost certainly going to be busy with their other halves today. But what’s that – oh no! You forgot?!

Forgetting Valentines’ Day is a cardinal sin to be sure, but once again SiliconANGLE’s got your back with these emergency Valentines’ apps to get you out of trouble :)

21-800 Flowers

This app is available for both iOS and Android and allows you to buy flowers right on your mobile device and have it delivered to your special someone. Aside from flowers 1-800 Flowers also offers gift baskets and specialty gifts just in case you also forgot to get a gift for your partner. The only problem now would be choosing what kind of flower to give or remember what his or her favorite flower is.

NoWait

It’s hard to get a last minute reservation today, but you can make the process a bit bearable with NoWait. It’s an app available for both iOS and Android that allows you reserve a table at a restaurant of your choosing, and then all you have to do is arrive on time and check-in with the host. No more waiting in line to get a table. The only problem for today is finding a restaurant with available seating for today. So good luck with that

Minibar

Staying at home for a private dinner for two but forgot to grab your partner’s favorite bottle of wine or your hubby’s favorite bottle of brandy? Minibar’s got you covered. Minibar is an app available for iOS which offers various types of alcohol to be delivered right on your doorstep in under an hour. The app allows you to see how much each bottle costs, and though delivery is free, there is a default delivery tip of $3 which you can edit to add more. The only downside of this app is that it is currently only available in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and the hours of delivery depends on your zip code.
