Jasper Global SIM

 .

Jasper Wireless announced the Jasper Global SIM, the latest software module to be integrated into the cloud-based Jasper Platform which gives enterprises the ability to manage a single embedded SIM by remotely provisioning and managing mobile operator profiles and policies for that SIM anywhere in the world.  It provides the ability to change SIM profiles on-demand or based on pre-defined rules and triggering events, with reporting and audit controls, automated assignment to proper policies, rate plans and service conditions, with fully managed billing and contractual term compliance.

Jasper has also partnered with Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), an international technology provider specialising in payment, secure communication, and identity management, to deliver a commercial, end-to-end solution for Global SIM.  This will enable remote provisioning and managing of mobile operator credentials and policies for that single SIM anywhere in the world, allowing enterprises to deliver their connected devices worldwide by minimizing the complexity involved in working with multiple operators across disparate regions.

Macheen-Samsung partnership

 .

Cloud applications service provider Macheen Inc. announced that it will be participating in the Samsung Enterprise Application Partner program (SEAP) as an ISV Partner.  This will enable Macheen to deliver more effective services so enterprise and government agencies can focus on delivering information needed for their people to be more productive without compromising privacy and security.

The The Macheen Mobile Connect platform allows companies to sponsor cellular access focusing on the business critical sites and applications that employees need to stay productive, such as email or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

GM ReSound, a company that specializes hearing aids, revealed LiNX, a “Made for iPhone hearing aid.”  LiNX uses Bluetooth to pair with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to stream voice communications and music. ReSound describes LiNX as a “wireless stereo headphones that just happen to be your hearing aids.”

Users of LiNX can set preferred volumes, as well as treble/bass, and use geo-tagging to automatically adjust the volume when they arrive at their favorite locations.

It also has an app that allows the user to find LiNX in case it gets misplaced.  LiNX will come in 10 hair colours and skin tones to reduce visibility when worn.  No news yet as to how much the device will cost and when it will be available for purchase.

XY

 .

A new tracking tag launched on Kickstarter and it’s gaining traction from the crowdfunding community.  Dubbed simply as XY, the Bluetooth enabled devices allows you to keep track of important stuff in your life such as your wallet, bags, luggage, or even pets.  Unlike other tracking tags that are immediately visible to others who are also using it, XY can be set so that only you can see your tags, and you can assign a set of people who can use or see your tags.

XY tags feature three modes: Find It, Keep It, and Lost It.  Find It helps you find where you left an XY tag attached to your keys or any of your things.  Tags placed in Keep It mode will set off an alert to your smartphone if you move out of range from the XY tag. You can set a tag to Lost It mode and specify which people can see your tags so they can help you find your lost tag.  You can track your tags right on your phone, or allow others to find the lost tag for you.
