Microsoft has finally unveiled the Lumia 535, the first Lumia that no longer carries the Nokia Oyj branding. The Redmond, WA-based company introduced the device with plenty of fanfare, claiming it has “5x5x5 innovation with an affordable price tag.” Though the Lumia 535 lacks many advanced features found in top smartphones today, Microsoft believes that its functions are enough to entice selfie enthusiasts and Skype users, not to mention business workers in need of a mobile Windows experience. Aimed at developing countries, the Lumia 535 is launching across several nations worldwide, retailing for only $135 without a SIM.
“Lumia 535 comes with our ‘5x5x5’ proposition,” said Jo Harlow, corporate vice president for Phones at Microsoft. “Innovation should be available to everyone, and we are doing this through the very best integrated Microsoft services included and out of the box, a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera, and a spacious 5-inch qHD screen — all at an affordable price.”
Display
The new Lumia 535 comes with a 5 ” qHD screen with 960×540 resolution, featuring 220 pixels per inch, an IPS LCD that supports Capacitive Multipoint-touch and TrueColor display. To top things off, the 535 has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen.
This large display will be good for accessing, editing, or sharing Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and OneNote notebooks, as the device comes pre-installed with the Office suite.

Camera
Microsoft’s first Lumia handset has a 5MP rear camera with autofocus, an LED flash and auto and manual white balance. Images will be automatically upload to Microsoft’s cloud service, OneDrive.
The 5MP wide angle front camera comes with still image capture and video call capabilities, as well as video recording capabilities. The wide-angle front camera should be great for taking selfies, groufies, and making Skype video calls.

Processor & OS
The 535 features a 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 200 processor, and runs Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim. This OS delivers features the personal digital assistant Cortana, Live folders, an app store, SMS merging and forwarding, snooze time customization for the alarm app, consumer VPN and much more.
.

The device comes with 8GB of local storage, which can be upgraded to up to 128GB via MicroSD. The Lumia 535 is also equipped with 1GB RAM, and 15GB of free cloud storage.
