The Apple Watch is loaded with fitness- and health-tracking features, and a myriad of apps are being launched to make you more productive, pay for stuff, communicate with friends and family, and more.
But what are you to do if you simply want to kill a bit of time? Mobile games have entertained us on our commutes, in the doctor’s waiting room, the Post Office queue and during boring PowerPoint presentations. Now they can do the same on Apple Watch.
Here are three of our favorite games you can play on your Apple Watch:

Quahog lies in ruins thanks to Peter Griffin’s epic battle with the giant chicken, and in “Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff” it’s your mission to restore the town to its former glory. The iPhone and iPad game was developed in collaboration with the writers from the Fox animated series Family Guy, and it’s now available on Apple Watch too.
In the latest version of the game, you can embark on deep space adventures in the world of Star Trek and shoot at asteroids. Play on the Enterprise where all your favorite characters can be found, including Data, Worf and many more.
Minecraft Explorer Pro is billed as the “ultimate companion for any Minecraft player,” and the more than 7.5 million downloads suggests that Minecraft players agree. With Minecraft Explorer Pro for Apple Watch, you can browse crafting recipes straight from your wrist or search for items from the watch – very handy if you play the Pocket Edition.

The developers of Cupcake Dungeon describe it as “the only game where you can kill a donut with a stick, steal his crayons and sell them to buy nunchucks.” If that off-the-wall statement doesn’t immediately compel you to download the game, you probably need to check your pulse.
“A mysterious force has turned once friendly cakes and candies to evil! Defeat the fearsome enemies, get loot, collect treasure, and upgrade your weapons and power so you can become the hero Cupcakia needs!”
The game works seamlessly across iPhone and Apple Watch and contains 30 “badass” enemies, a selection of 30-plus weapons, treasure to collect and a “really angry strudel.”
The developers also note: “Cupcake Dungeon is free to download and play. You cannot spend any real money in the game; however, you can beat down a cheesecake with a crowbar.”
