Robert Fedoruk, CEO and cofounder of Wolfpack Cloud Services LLC, said he’s waited for the ServiceNow Store for years. As Wolfpack moves into development, it has one app available already — FocalPoint — through ServiceNow’s app store.
“It’s about rapid deployment of self-service experiences in a way that’s richer than what you get out of box, but also orders of magnitude faster,” Fedoruk said in an interview with theCUBE hosts John Furrier and Dave Vellante at ServiceNow’s Knowledge15 event in Las Vegas.
Fedoruk believes that the newly announced ServiceNow Store offers a big advantage for developers. “ServiceNow has empowered developers to go after some of the incumbent large solutions,” he said. “Right now, ServiceNow isn’t replacing large-scale incumbent HR applications, for example, but with the app store, people can make a viva play in that space. Developers can scope an app, so we’re not just writing open code that anyone can copy and paste.”
ServiceNow’s reputation will also benefit developers. “The apps that you are going to be able to buy from ServiceNow are going to have a lot more credibility, because they are backed by an enterprise application,” Fedoruk said. “People aren’t going to think as much about getting an app from the ServiceNow platform as they would a single-function app for their phone.”
