ServiceNow’s ecosystem story is just beginning | #know15
It’s not too late to become a part of ServiceNow, Inc.’s story, said Shane Jackson, the company’s VP of Marketing. Addressing over 700 ServiceNow partners at its recent Partner Summit, Jackson proclaimed, “Here is your opportunity; it is not too late to be a part of the development and implementation on the platform.”
Driving the momentum forward
Shane was invited for another interview on theCUBE to discuss his role at ServiceNow, which is to drive the initiative that successful software companies have had to build: a partner ecosystem. Dave Vellante, host of theCUBE during the Knowledge15 event in Las Vegas, recognized and commended Shane Jackson about his new role as marketing manager and wanted to know the plans he had to obtain a successful ecosystem for his company. Vellante referred to his role as the “lever that drives the momentum forward.”
Jackson first referenced what he considers industry success stories, such as Oracle Corp. and SAP SE, pointing out their growth based on a healthy ecosystem, one where businesses function as a unit within a shared market for software and services.
When asked what kind of partners Jackson was attempting to attract, he made mention of Global System Innovators (GSI) and KPMG, who have entire systems built around different markets that ServiceNow can then be part of. These companies have the expertise in areas that ServiceNow would not be able to build on its own. This comes with the confidence that the high-end companies who invest will benefit, however.
Getting the attention of developers
theCUBE co-host Jeff Frick stated that the goal of most ecosystems is developers, asking how ServiceNow gets the attention of developers. Jackson explained that the company’s platform is easy to develop on incorporating all types of developers: Professional, Low Code and No Code. It will also be offering certification programs.
ServiceNow has opened a store to provide partners with an application marketplace to sell their business applications developed on the ServiceNow platform. Through the ServiceNow store, organizations can gain access to a wide choice of innovative solution to improve efficiency and lower the cost of service delivery. Since the market is so large, he suggested that the partners will have to be creative and innovative. This will ensure that customers and partners have a readily available community of highly skilled, diverse and innovative developers.
Jackson’s closing words and bumper sticker for the event were to “get certified and build a great App.” The concept is simple: More partners working with ServiceNow technologies means more innovation, more choices and more satisfied customers.
