Evolving solutions find success in healthcare industry | #IBMEdge
Evolving Solutions, iNC., a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based IT infrastructure solutions provider, has experienced significant growth over the past few years, in part due to its focus on healthcare and other technology-consuming industries.
“We have a deep awareness of healthcare environments, so we’re able to replicate capacity needs, capacity planning, and really understand some of the core applications that drive healthcare growth,” President and CEO Jamie Gmach told theCUBE during IBM Edge2015.
Healthcare industry embraces Big Data
Despite its reputation for paper records and slow response times, the healthcare industry is starting to embrace Big Data and other technologies. “The consumption of technology is accelerating in healthcare,” said Gmach. “It’s all about data, the accumulation of data, and what they can do to act on that data. It is on an aggressive acquisition pace and uses technology much differently than in the past.”
Evolving Solutions’ relationship with IBM extends to Cloud offerings, an advancement that still presents challenges on the customer level.
“There is a battle between protecting data and making data available on a cloud level for analytics,” said Evolving Solutions Solution Architect Tim Klubertanz, who also joined theCUBE. “There are often some tough decisions to be made about how to get data to the Cloud and how to process it. My role is to help solve some of those problems and make sure customers can grow their infrastructure.”
