Batman: Arkham Knight may be months from being fixed on PC, suggests a leaked email

It has been over three weeks since Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment was forced to pull the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight from digital store shelves, and according to a recent email leaked from EB Games, it does not look like we are going to be seeing its return any time soon.

According to an email obtained by Kotaku Australia, it could be several months before the game’s horrendous PC issues are resolved.

The leaked email says:

As previously advised, we have stopped sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC while Warner and Rocksteady work on addressing performance issues with the game. The latest information from Warner is that the updates won’t be available until Spring. Due to this we have made the difficult decision to recall all PC stock from stores to return to the vendor until an acceptable solution is released.

The email is referring to Spring in Australia, which is the same time period as Fall in the northern hemisphere. While this time period is incredibly vague, it suggests that Arkham Knight may not be returning to digital retailers like Steam for as long as two to four months.

The fiasco with the game occurred within weeks of Steam announcing its new refund policy, which would allows users to get a full refund for games if they were returned with less than two hours of playtime within 14 days after they were purchased, or within 14 days after the game launches in the case of a pre-order.

Retailers such as Green Man Gaming Ltd, which does not have a refund policy for digital games, made an exception for Arkham Knight. GMG in particular stated that it would offer full refunds if the game were not fixed with the first patch released, and that was before Warner Bros pulled the release entirely.

Some fans who bought the game before it was pulled decided to suck it up and play through the bugs and other issues, but they are also being affected by Warner Bros long delay in fixing the game. The publisher said that it will not be releasing the Batgirl story DLC for PC until after the base game is fixed, likely because it will be a mess too.
