Diversity improves innovation: Evolution of women in tech | #VMworld

True diversity in the workplace is about men and women partnering together and everyone focusing on trying something new. Sheryl Chamberlain, Group Vice President Global Partner Executive at Capgemini Service SAS , talks with Jeff Frick at the VMwomen Panel during VMWorld 2015 about what it looks like to improve the conversation and move everyone forward.

Evolution of Women in Tech

Men are a big part of helping diversity happen in the workplace. Male advocates need to step up and be a part of the change in order to bring all of the voices to the table. Once all of the voices are there, true innovation can take place and people can contribute.

“If you really think about it, it is really what we are doing different today that keeps us focused on what’s possible. If you just do the same thing day in and day out and you are not learning, I don’t know if you are really alive,” said Chamberlain.

Chamberlain encourages people to take the big steps towards improving relationships and community and everyone being a part of moving forward. She also has advice for people who want to step up and provide their point of view in areas they are passionate about.
