How does internal bias affect us in the workplace, especially when it comes to gender? theCUBE host Jeff Frick talks to Lori Nishiura Mackenzie, Executive Director of the Clayman Institute, an organization which focuses on gender research and gender equality, at the VMWomen SidePanel from the recently concluded VMworld conference.
Mackenzie talks about how bias affects the way we view ourselves and what our vocabulary does to support our biases. In the workplace, these means everything from talking about accomplishments and personalities in evaluations, to limiting people’s ability to progress because of perceptions.
