Evolving a security model in the enterprise | #VMworld

Security is getting more complex and moving from hardware to software and coding hacks that can compromise business and beyond. It is a scary world we live in!

Hear from these industry experts as they talk about security, with Virtualization Security Analyst Edward Haletky hosting a panel with Hemma Prafullchandra, CTO and EVP of products at HyTrust, Inc.; Simon Crosby, cofounder and CTO at Bromium, Inc.; and Mike Foley, technical marketing, security at VMware, Inc. in this VirtSec Podcast from VMware 2015.

Solid practice

A solid security practice will allow companies to take care of unforeseen breaches and attacks. As Mike Foley puts it, “Security isn’t an action; security is a practice.” This practice includes hardware and software decisions, as well as knowledge about the changes happening in the industry.

The traditional security model isn’t working as efficiently as it used to. “There are better ways of achieving security by design,” said Crosby, “What you see emerging … is a set of ways … to make the infrastructure vastly more defensible. It is time to get rid of the old crap … it doesn’t work.”

Join the conversation as Haletky, Prafullchandra, Crosby and Foley dive into security and information that businesses might not be considering about their own level security – from mitigation to policies and updates with technology – and hear the latest tips and approaches for security that they share.
