If you’ve been meaning to drop your network carrier but have yet to find a formidable replacement, Verizon Communications, Inc. may have just laid out the best mobile offer yet.
To start 2016 right, Verizon is offering $650 per line to those who will switch to its network. The money can be used to “buy out your contract and cover early termination fees and device or lease buyouts from your old wireless provider.”
With this move, Verizon is offering mobile users money to jump ship because it’s confident users will be more satisfied with its service. Quite a ballsy move, but one that Verizon claims can be backed by numbers.
In RootMetrics’ National RootScore Report, Verizon led in the overall performance among national wireless service providers for four consecutive reports. The network also claims that 87 percent of T-Mobile USA, Inc. customers and 86 percent of Sprint International, Inc. customers who switched back to Verizon within six months of leaving Verizon said “Network quality and performance” was the number one reason they came back.
For those with a family plan, switching to Verizon will be more lucrative. As stated earlier, Verizon is offering up to $650 per line, which means a family of four could get as much as $2,600.
When switching to Verizon and choosing the network’s XL or XXL plan, users would also receiving 2GB of extra data — for life, provided that the user’s device is active in the plan. This means more hours of web surfing, posting on social media, more songs to streams and more maps to view.
To switch, a user can transfer their number to Verizon from another carrier, purchase a 4G LTE smartphone with a new device payment activation, and trade-in their device from their previous carrier. Mobile users can visit their nearest Version store to have their device appraised. The value of the device may be immediately applied in-store if the user wishes.
The device to be traded in should be in good working condition and worth more than $0. And users must keep their new Verizon line active for a minimum of six months. Users will get up to $650 on a prepaid card for the installment plan less the device trade-in value (or up to a $350 prepaid card for early termination fees less the device trade-in value).
