Netflix announces premiere dates for 11 shows, Marvel’s Jessica Jones gets a second season
Leading online streaming media service Netflix, Inc. has announced the launch dates for eleven new and returning original shows, including the announcements that popular fan favorite Marvel’s Jessica Jones will return for a second season and some of the lineup for the forthcoming series, the U.S. remake of the British series Black Mirror.
Launched in November last year and believed to be Netflix’s most popular show after House of Cards, Marvel’s Jessica Jones follows the life Jessica Jones, a failed Super Hero who is rebuilding her personal life and career as a private investigator in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.
Black Mirror is an anthology series that features speculative fiction with dark and sometimes satirical themes which examine modern society, in particular the unanticipated consequences of using new technologies; each episode features a completely different cast, with British star Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Canada’s Mackenzie Davis named as starring in one episode.
