Putting an early acquisition to work in the enterprise, Microsoft’s Skype for Business is seeing uptake by several companies, all announced today at the Enterprise Connect 2016 event in Orlando, FL. The service is part of Microsoft Office 365’s Skype for Business (SFB).
For starters, Numonix, LLC, announced RECITE, which Numonix CEO Avi Margolin described as a “complete cloud-based interaction recording solution” for SFB, with aims to “[help] ensure regulatory compliance, [reduce] legal liability and [give] valuable insights into customer interactions.”
IntelePeer introduced enhancements for its SFB services, with highlighted features including their CoreCloud SIP service enabling on-premise, cloud and hybrid models of organization and flexible pricing, as well as call control services and PSTN access customization.
MediaPlatform, Inc.’s integration of SFB with its YouTube communications utilities was unveiled as well, under the heading of MediaPlatform Skype Sync. Improving the ease of uploads to MediaPlatform’s video solutions management tools, this utility will streamline the processes of tagging and handling uploaded videos, as well as delving into the analytics.
All three companies noted ease of use, multi-platform accessibility, improved analytics tools, tighter security and clearer data management in their lists of features for their respective new developments. Each also serves as a clear demonstration of the adoption and corporate interest in SFB, with the services provided creating further incentive for enterprise-level companies to join in on SFB utilization, thereby adding to its market-gain momentum.
At this point, it’s also a matter of acting as pioneers in addressing SFB’s relevance to various facets of the business world. This race to take the reins is illustrated by MediaPlatform CEO Jim McGovern’s description of the gains made by the company through its early incorporation of the service: “With the release of our Skype for Business integration, MediaPlatform is excited to take the lead as the only enterprise video platform truly bridging the gap between web conferencing and videoconferencing.”
Similarly, Matt Girgenti, director of Microsoft Delivery at Project Leadership Associates, a business ally of IntelePeer, noted “the increasing demand for Skype for Business,” making clear the burgeoning user-base that is looking for utilities to solve their SFB-reliant needs.
As SFB and Microsoft Office 365 continue to gain ground across the many fronts of the business landscape, it will be up to the innovators to meet that demand.
