Is Oracle 100% ‘cloud ready’? | #CloudWorld
This year’s Oracle CloudWorld is showcasing the versatility of the Oracle line of products. Familiar products, such as Oracle OpenStack, have been made more flexible in their programming languages. And new products, such as the just-announced Oracle Cloud at Customer, enable organizations to get the benefits of Oracle’s cloud services in their own datacenter.
Amit Zavery, senior VP and GM of integration products for the Oracle Cloud Platform, talked with John Furrier and Dave Vellante, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, about Oracle’s new cloud products, including its Cloud Machine; its cloud strategy going forward, including a full end-to-end cloud offering; and how Oracle customers facing regulatory requirements or data privacy issues can still use the public cloud with the agility they need.
A broad sense of functionality
Zavery discussed the “broad sense of functionality” of his product line, lauding Oracle’s “out-of-the-box” features. “Developers are now the top of the spear,” said Zavery, referencing the recent shift from top-down development to developer-driven products.
Perhaps most exciting for Zavery is the ability to build an “application from the ground-up” but not limit its language or it mobility based on its point of origin.
Moving forward, Zavery said he most looks forward to meeting customers and working with them on specific use-cases.
