Rumors have been rife as to what we’ll see from Xbox at this year’s E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) taking place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on June 13. Hopes are high that the company will turn some heads this year, either giving us “something special in hardware” as has been rumored, or even news about upgrading the Xbox One. We’ll have to wait until we know what these grand plans are, but in the meantime Microsoft has given us some more tasters of what’s going to happen.
Microsoft has announced that the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing will happen on June 13 starting at 9:30 a.m. PDT. At the briefing the company says unannounced titles coming in 2016 will be revealed, as well as in-depth looks at games already announced, which could include Halo Wars 2, Gears of War 4, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and Forza.
The briefing, says Microsoft, can be watched from any Microsoft store, or streamed live with Xbox Live Events Player on Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles, on Spike TV (North America), and via the Xbox Twitch channel – with behind the scenes coverage.
Microsoft also said it’s bringing back its Xbox Daily: Live @ E3 show, which will be hosted by Larry Hryb, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson, Graeme Boyd and Xbox Live’s Acey Bongos. This will cover all of the breaking news, trailers and announcements, as well as interviews with industry experts and guests stars. The show will feature interactive experiences and can be streamed live on Xbox One, on Xbox.com for desktop and mobile, Xbox 360, and on the Xbox Twitch Channel.
Microsoft also revealed that FanFest will be returning meaning 500 fans will have the chance to gain exclusive access to the briefing as well as a chance to meet gaming leaders and developers, get involved with special events, have some play time with upcoming games and receive a backpack filled with gaming goodies. Microsoft says a lot more will soon be revealed as to more surprises the winners will receive, but that definitely won’t include the cost of a hotel. You can apply here.
