Google announces 8 Android add-ons for Docs & Sheets, allowing you to work on the go
Google has made it easier to sign and scan documents, create apps, and import CRM data, directly from your mobile with the introduction of Android add-ons for Docs and Sheets.
The integration of eight third-party add-ons for Docs and Sheets allow you to continue with work when you are away from your desk.
You will obviously need to have the Google Docs and Sheets apps installed on your Android device, as well as the relevant add-ons mentioned below to use any of these features.
Sign and scan documents on the go
DocuSign
The integration of DocuSign with Docs and Sheets allows you to sign documents or send documents to others for signature, directly within the app on your Android device.
To use the add-on, make sure you download the DocuSign app to your device. In Google Docs or Sheets, open the relevant document that you need to sign or send for signature. Tap the More icon > Add-Ons > DocuSign > select to either Send with DocuSign or Sign with DocuSign.
If you are sending a document for signature, then add the recipient and message. Alternatively, add your signature to the document.
PandaDoc
The PandaDoc add-on works in the same way as DocuSign, allowing you to send contracts, quotes, etc. to others to sign or to sign documents yourself directly from your mobile.
Download the PandaDoc app to your Android device. When you need to sign a document or send it externally for signature, simple select PandaDoc from the Add-Ons option in Google Docs or Sheets.
Scanbot
The Scanbot add-on allows you to easily scan printed documents using your mobile device. Using optical character recognition (OCR), Scanbot will then extract the printed information from the document and provide you with a final Google Doc that is editable.
To get scanning, download the Scanbot app to your device. In Google Docs, tap the More icon > Add-Ons > Scanbot. Use your phone to scan the document, once done Scanbot will insert the text into a Google Doc.
Tip: If you are scanning multiple documents, simply use your phone to scan them successively. Scanbot will insert all the pages into the Google Doc in the same order.
