How one company approaches the new generation of storage | #VMworld

Storage is the technological foundation of a company, and this market segment has recently been significantly affected by the digital transformation. For all-flash storage company Kaminario, all-flash storage is a priority.

Dani Golan, founder and CEO of Kaminario, and Josh Epstein, VP of Global Marketing at Kaminario, talked with Stu Miniman (@stu), host of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during the VMworld conference about Kaminario approach to storage.

A new age

Kaminario is a fairly young company, having only been founded in 2008. However, since the beginning it’s been an all-flash organization, according to Golan. More than 25 years ago, the way most companies approached technology was different. And, as time passed, storage architecture basically remained the same. However, now storage has grown to be “the biggest revolution since cloud and virtualization,” said Golan.

Storage and the cloud

The cloud has become a major factor for companies going through a digital transformation and has to be considered when developing new products. For Kaminario, this meant creating a product that could be “utilized across the entire stack,” said Golan.

Along with integrated cloud capabilities, customers also want real-time data analytics. Companies want to have the ability and agility to run those analytics and multiple workloads on “a single dataset,” according to Epstein.

User Experience

Kaminario isn’t just focused on storing data. It also leverages its data for the best possible value. Customers want high value and a simple interface, and Kaminario is constantly working to maintain the delivery of its “consistently high customer experience,” said Golan.

Kaminario provides storage that’s easy for the customer to use and gives them added “predictability and agility,” Epstein said.
