Israeli cybersecurity startup Cyberbit raises $30M to accelerate growth

Israeli cybersecurity startup Cyberbit Ltd. today said it has raised $30 million in new funding from Claridge Israel to accelerate growth and accommodate the rising demand for its security products.

Founded in 2015 and previously a fully owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd., Cyberbit offers a detection and response platform that has been designed to protect enterprise users against attacks against information technology, operational technology and “internet of things” networks.

The company claims its platform has been forged “in the toughest environments on the globe” and cover a thorough list of security services. Starting with endpoint detection and response powered by behavioral analysis, Cyberbit’s platform includes security automation, orchestration and response, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition for Industrial Control Systems security and simulated cybertraining.

Despite providing a cybersecurity platform, Cyberbit is highly keen in pitching its cybertraining, saying that its approach of using hyperrealistic simulation to train and assess cybersecurity experts can assist companies in training new security staff as the industry faces employee shortages.

Those services include a deal the company signed in 2016 with Electronic Technology Associates Inc. to build the first live, standalone, hands-on cybersecurity training center in the U.S.

Since opening in August last year, the Baltimore Cyber Range provides information technology and cybersecurity training, simulation and placement services across the full spectrum of experience and skill levels, including basic-level training to provide unemployed and underemployed people in Maryland basic IT/cyber skills required to obtain entry-level industry positions.
