New machine learning solutions offer data management protection

Organizations firmly entrenched at the intersection of Big Data Way and Cloud Boulevard often face a dilemma. Which direction allows the ability to move information among multiple platforms while maintaining a unified view of the entire database landscape?

It’s not an easy decision, yet Imanis Data Inc. has built its business on specific expertise in data management, protection and orchestration while using machine learning to automate many tasks. The company has also leveraged partnerships with firms such as Cohesity Inc. to expand its reach into the enterprise.

“They’re talking to a customer who has a specific request for a data management solution for NoSQL or Hadoop platforms, and that’s where we come in,” said John Mracek (pictured), chief executive officer of Imanis Data. “That’s what we’ve focused on exclusively from day one.”

Mracek spoke with Stu Miniman (@stu), host of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s mobile livestreaming studio, during the Microsoft Ignite event in Orlando, Florida. They discussed recent announcements from the company involving support for Microsoft Azure, expanded services for cloud migrations, and the role of machine learning in data management. Expanded support for Azure

Imanis Data recently announced expansion of enterprise data management support for Microsoft Azure. The company added support for Azure Data Lake Storage 2.0 and new features for Hadoop and NoSQL database migrations to the cloud platform.

“Microsoft is getting their act together on how you migrate and bring people to Azure,” Mracek said. “We play really well into the migration story, and it really leverages our platform.”

The latest moves by Imanis Data also expanded features for MongoDB to Cosmos DB cloud migration through automated services. Earlier in September, the company upgraded its Data Management Platform to include SmartPolicies and ThreatSense Intelligent Automation.

The recent announcements highlight Imanis Data’s continued work in leveraging machine learning capabilities for the data management space. “We’re using a big data platform and machine learning to solve the problem of managing the data,” Mracek said. “The whole DNA of the company is built around that.”
