Hire by Google gets new AI and enterprise features

Google LLC originally built its Hire by Google recruiting platform with small and midsized businesses in mind. But in the two years since the service launched, the search giant has made a number of enhancements to extend its appeal to large organizations.

The latest batch of enterprise features for Hire by Google is being released this morning. The main highlight is a new artificial intelligence capability focused on a relatively humdrum but central aspect of recruiting: approvals.

It’s a rule of thumb that the more important a position is, the more stakeholders have to sign off on hiring decisions. Managers looking to create new roles within their teams must often also secure written authorization before they can post an opening. Hire by Google’s new AI capability analyzes job listings and automatically identifies which decision-makers should be brought into the approval process, freeing up recruiters for other tasks.

“For enterprises, tracking down the right approvers for new job requisitions and offers can take time away from critical tasks like finding and interviewing great talent,” Hire by Google project manager Paul Littlefield wrote in a blog post. “To optimize Hire for these businesses, we enhanced the requisition and offer approval flows to automatically suggest approvers for new job requisitions or offers.”

In the same spirit of speeding up the recruiting process, today’s update introduces a referral portal that will enable workers to suggest candidates for their companies. Referrals add up quickly in large organizations and can help recruiting teams fill openings faster than they otherwise could.

To help enterprises measure the effectiveness of their hiring efforts, Google is also rolling out a new set of analytics dashboards. And to top it off, the search giant is adding connectors for four popular workforce management platforms: Zenefits, Namely, Sapling and AppogeeHR. The integration will allow companies to automatically synchronize recruiting data from Hire by Google to their HR system of record.
