Accenture taps Google Cloud to host life sciences industry platform

Consultancy firm Accenture Plc today announced a multiyear deal for Google Cloud to be its cloud partner for its INTIENT life sciences industry platform.

INTIENT is a platform for biopharma firms to gain insights and collaborate with continuity and flow of information across the enterprise. The platform enables the application of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to data to deliver insights that can lead to improved patient outcomes.

Features include the ability to capture, store, import and standardize complex data to run faster clinical trials as well as being able to share that data with other software and service providers for research purposes. One subsection, INTIENT Pharmacovigilance, is designed to help companies uncover patient safety impacts from existing products and better manage the risks of new products, as well as respond to new stakeholder demands across the healthcare landscape.

“INTIENT will advance Accenture’s and Google Cloud’s shared mission to empower life sciences organizations with intelligent solutions that help bring innovative treatments to patients around the world, with greater speed, safety and efficacy,” Simon Eaves, group chief executive of products at Accenture said in a statement.

Tariq Shaukat, president of Google Cloud, added that the shared goal is to accelerate developments in treatments using Google Cloud capabilities, such as AI and data analytics, to correlate symptoms, events and treatments in “new and unexpected ways.”

Accenture’s decision to use Google Cloud for INTIENT is not the first time the company has partnered with Google for cloud services. The two companies signed a deal in July 2018 to create the Accenture Google Cloud Business Group, made up of specialists from each company, that’s designed to provide “data insight solutions” to enterprise customers.
