Juniper Networks Inc. subsidiary Mist Systems Inc. has launched a new service called Mist Premium Analytics that offers enterprises greater visibility into their networks, along with more contextual, location-based information about customer and employees.
Mist Systems said the service is meant to give enterprises a more comprehensive view of disparate networking, security and location domains and provide more insights that can help drive business decisions.
The launch of the new service comes around a year after Juniper acquired Mist Systems for $405 million. At the time of the acquisition, Juniper said it was planning to combine its wired local area network, software-defined wide-area network and security services with Mist’s analytics tools.
Mist also provides an AI-Driven Self-Driving Network for companies that want to set up a cloud-based network with minimal troubleshooting.
According to Mist, the new service will provide customers with more insights into the performance of their Wide Area Networks at specific branches and retail offices. It will also help to provide a better view of usage patterns in Wireless LANs to help companies anticipate changes in demand. Finally, users will be able to compare the Mist data with information from other, third-party sources, the company said.
Another benefit of the service is that it can generate customized reports and analytics based on location data, to help companies better understand the behavior of their employees and guests. Those insights can help companies to understand things such as customer traffic flows at specific venues, or the optimal number of sales associates that need to be on hand at any given time.
The Mist Premium Analytics service will enable users to analyze up to a year of data, together with customizable queries and reporting. Insights are delivered by way of “rich data visualizations” that make them easy to understand.
“End-to-end network visibility into network, security and location behavior is traditionally both complex and costly because of disparate systems, organizational silos and the lack of an overarching intelligence engine to tie all the pieces together,” Sudheer Matta, vice president of products at Juniper Mist, said in a statement.
The new service will be available starting April 1.
