Autonomous endpoint protection startup Cynet raises $18M
Autonomous endpoint protection startup Cynet Security Ltd. said today it has raised $18 million in new funding to develop its CyOps team and fuel growth in the U.S. and international markets.
The Series B+ round was led by Telekom Innovation Pool, Deutsche Telekom’s strategic investment fund and included BlueRed Partners, Merlin International, Norwest Venture Partners and Ibex Investors.
Founded in 2015, Cynet offers artificial intelligence-powered autonomous endpoint protection designed to bring breach protection within the reach of any organization regardless of size or security skills. Offering an enterprise-grade solution for internal networks, the company’s Cynet 360 platform includes endpoint detection and response, user and entity behavior analytics, network analytics, deception and a 24/7 security operation center.
Cynet claims that its autonomous breach protection solution provides the customer with best-of-breed adaptive protection including the widest set of commodity and advanced threats with zero operational overhead, maintenance efforts or manual operation.
While catering to businesses of all sizes, the platform was designed with small to medium-sized enterprises in mind who may struggle to find a budget for or even the in-house talent to integrate and manage a broad range of siloed solutions. In covering a broad range of security concerns, Cynet 360 is said to offer solutions that meet SME budgets and information technology department size constraints while guaranteeing easy deployment.
“We developed one solution that can be substituted for all the different security solutions organizations currently use (like products for endpoint protection, products that monitor network activity and others),” Cynet co-founder and Chief Executive Eyal Gruner told Geektime. “Our goal is to allow any organization, big or small, the same protection that Fortune 500 companies deploy, with their enormous budgets and huge teams of reliable talent on-hand.”
Cynet says it has hundreds of customers. The platform is also available as a white-label solution for managed service providers.
Including the new funding, Cynet has raised $38 million to date.
