New Salesforce Learning Paths brings personalized learning directly to employees

Salesforce.com Inc. today announced Salesforce Learning Paths, a service that brings personalized learning directly into the customer relationship management service to enable employees to learn in the flow of work when and where they need it.

Workplace learning is said to be a proven driver of success for both employees and employers. According to Salesforce research, employees are more productive, engaged in their work and likely to stay at their job when their companies invest in continuous learning.

In the age of COVID-19, the way people work has radically changed, with a massive shift to working at home and where Zoom has become the de facto standard for work meetings. As Salesforce noted in February, remote work is the future regardless of this pandemic or the next one.

Whether working in an office or at home, employees want to learn on the job wherever they choose to work, Salesforce contends. But at the same time, they’re finding fewer opportunities to develop their skills outside of the office where they no longer sit beside their manager and colleagues.

According to Salesforce, 59% of employees say they’ve had fewer opportunities for workplace learning since the pandemic began. Learning Paths is designed to give organizations the power to integrate learning technologies directly into Salesforce to help employees with on-the-job learning for the all-digital era.

Learning Paths allows employees to work and learn seamlessly in a single, digital environment, Salesforce said. Employees can tap into Trailhead, myTrailhead and external learning resources, including bite-sized videos and gamified quizzes.

Pre-pandemic, what once required a full week of training is transformed with Learning Paths into small moments of learning in the flow of work throughout the day, according to Salesforce. The service includes contextual learning for employees in relevant skills as well as personalized learning tailored for specific individuals.

On the corporate side, companies can personalize and monitor learning according to an individual, role, team or the entire organization, helping employees reach their development goals and organizations build workforce expertise.

Learning Paths will be generally available in the summer and will be available to all Salesforce clients that have a Sales, Service, Industries and Platform user license.
